Microsoft Exchange: Cloud Office Control Panel overview

Welcome to Rackspace Cloud Office Control Panel! After you sign up for Microsoft Exchanges services through Rackspace, the first thing to do is log in to your Cloud Office Control Panel. This article provides a brief overview of the control panel, which you can access at https://cp.rackspace.com/ for new Cloud Office customers or https://my.rackspace.com/ for UK and MyRackspace customers.

Control Panel Main

Once you’re logged into the Control Panel, you will see a variety of sections that showcase the products that you have signed up for (in this case, Microsoft Exchange). Each product/service box has a variety of options and tools to choose from. Control Main includes Microsoft Exchange product box, My Account, Domains, Support and News & Alerts. As you sign up for additional products such as Microsoft SharePoint, each product showcase up underneath to allow you to manage it directly from the landing page.

Microsoft Exchange

The Microsoft Exchange section provides you with various options and tools like spam filtering, creating distribution lists, and accessing contacts. For more options, you can click the More link in the lower-right corner.

After you click More, new options appear, such as mobile messaging, public folders, and the ability to upgrade your services by adding more storage space to your mailboxes. We recommend getting familiar with all the features so you can use the product to its full potential.

The following sections describe the options available for Microsoft Exchange on the control panel. Links to more information or instructions about options are provided.

Email Accounts

  • Add/Edit Mailbox - Add new mailboxes for your domain.
  • Contacts - Manage your company’s Exchange contacts.
  • Distribution lists - Add members of your domain (and contacts) to one exclusive email address so that emails are automatically sent out to all members of the list.
  • Resources - Set up or reserve an Exchange room for company collaboration.
  • Public Folders - Enable and manage your domain’s public folders
  • Mobile Messaging - Add ActiveSync and BlackBerry Enterprise Service licenses for users on your domain to enable them to synchronize email, contacts, and calendars to their mobile devices.

Spam Filtering

  • Set Preferences - the ability to control your domain spam settings or individual mailbox settings such as spam handling
  • Edit Blacklists - control domain or individual mailbox blacklists settings
  • Edit Safelists - control domain or individual mailbox blacklists settings
  • Blacklists / Safelists - search for users on Blacklists or Safelists

Reports

  • Domain Details - a summary of your domain services and products
  • Mailbox Details - a summary of your domains mailboxes
  • Mail Forwarding - the ability to see which mailboxes on your domains have forwards
  • Email Statistics - statistics regarding email traffic, spam, and IMAP connectivity

Upgrades

  • Email Hosting - upgrade your services with Rackspace email
  • Cloud Drive & Server Backup - add the Cloud Drive and Server Backup services to your domain
  • SharePoint - enable your free 250mb of the SharePoint service for your domain

Support

  • Rackspace Email Support - a self-service knowledge base to seek help on Cloud Office products
  • Support Tickets - manage and view your support tickets
  • Troubleshooting Tools - helpful tools such as a DNS checker and header analyzer

My Account

The My Account section allows users to manage their invoice history, manage administrators, and find general information. Below is a News and Alerts banner that will display any scheduled maintenances occurring and a system status update.

When you select the More option, you’ll be presented with more options to view such as Company Contacts, API Access Keys, Administrative Activity, and Service Summary.

Company Information

  • General Information - manage your account contact information and credit card information
  • Contacts - manage your accounts contact information such as phone number and permissions
  • Invoice History - manage and view past/present account invoices
  • Unpaid Invoices - view your unpaid invoices
  • Service Summary - a summary of your billed services
  • Pending Cancellations - view any pending cancellation requests

Administrators

  • View Current Admins - view your current domains administrators
  • Add Administrator - add a new domain administrator
  • Administrator Activity - view your administrators’ past activity
  • Generate API Keys - generate your API access key for your domain

Support

  • Documentation - self-service support documentation on our products
  • Support Tickets - manage and view your current and past support tickets
  • Feedback - an option to provide feedback for our services

The Domains service section allows you to access your domain’s DNS settings, add disclaimers, view domain details, and set spam filtering.

  • Email Archiving - a service that will archive all incoming and outgoing email for your domain
  • Global Access Rights - the ability to grant or disable access for POP or IMAP connections

  • Catch All Address - add a mailbox to capture any incoming mail sent to an address that doesn’t exist on your domain
  • Migrations - set up new migrations for migrating company data from a previous hosting provider

The Support section allows you to utilize support documents for the most common questions as well the ability to View / Create Tickets if you ever need assistance.
