Import email address data into Outlook 2016 for Windows

This article describes how to import a copy of your email address data into Outlook 2016.

Prerequisites

  • Tools required: Access to the Outlook account into which you want to import data

Import email address data

  1. In Outlook 2016, click File > Options in the navigation bar.

  2. In the Outlook Options window, click Advanced.

  3. In the Export section, click Export.

    The Import and Export Wizard launches.

  4. In the Import and Export Wizard, click Import from another program or file, and then click Next.

  5. Click Outlook Data File (.pst), and then click Next.

  6. Click Browse, and then select the Outlook Data File(.pst) file that you want to import.

  7. Select the folder from which to import. If you want to import all folders, select the Outlook Data File and the checkbox next to Include subfolders.

    Select Import items into the same folder in: and select the email address you want the data imported into.

  8. Click Finish. The Outlook Data File begins importing. The time to complete the import could take several minutes to several hours depending on the size of the importing file.

You have now successfully imported email data into Outlook 2016.
